Aathichoodi #3 - Iyalvathu Karavel
Verse: Iyalvathu Karavel
Translation: Give onto others.
Meaning:
This verse carries a lot of depth. Avvai says to always give to others. She does not tell us to be philanthrophists, but rather sensibly says to give away after keeping wat you require.
She could have said "keep what you need and give away the rest". But she does not. Why is that so? It is normal human tendency to keep all that comes by our way. Humans are greedy and selfish by nature. Therefore she employs a very nice way to convey the message.
Avvai says "You should always give onto others what you dont require" as this is the way to a very harmonious society. A very well based phrase because this is the only way to eradicate social discrepancies. Also, one of the highest deeds that can be done by a man is "Giving". This brings joy not only to the begetter but also to the giver.

Hi Krishna,
You've well begun this. Nice and simple explanations and words used just as Avvai herself.
I just want to add on the explanation you'd given for #3. "Iyalvathu Karavel" means give whatever you can to others doesn't carry a message that "give whatever you don't need". It also means that you should give something which is good, active, working, worth giving. (Iyalvathu = Iyandru kondu iruppathu)
Karavel means your giving should be a continuous process like a flow of water. As you correctly said everything on this earth should flow to reach the balance. It's said that whoever is having more than what needs is not better than a thief.
